Barter Babies was just an idea in 2006. The idea came from my mother. She is a mother of 5 children. I procrastinated for about a year, and finally decided it was time to turn this idea into reality. The idea is Parents exchanging childcare needs with each other so that childcare is free for both parents.

We do this by encouraging parents to connect with other parents in their local communities and exchange childcare with each other instead of paying for it. This saves thousands of dollars annually for both parents. Our website consists of parents who are now members and are actively looking for parents to connect with on our site. As these connections grow, they will in turn contribute to a close knit community. Do you have a childcare need? If your answer is yes, sign up today! You'll be glad you did!

How It Works:

Once you have become a member, your profile will be entered in your city's Forum on Barter Babies. You will also have full access to view the profiles of parents in your area. These profiles contain information regarding when the parent needs childcare, and when they would be able to provide childcare for you. It also includes basic information about their children such as, how many, how old , etc.

The parents preferred method of contact information is also included. With this, you will be able to contact them to set up a "meet and greet" and/or discuss the details of the childcare exchange arrangements. All without discussing childcare costs! You can use Barter Babies to look for childcare on a regular basis, occasional basis, or when you just want an evening out. The best part is, once you have made the donation of your choice, you will not have to pay another dime for childcare on our forum! We are always open to suggestions to improve your experience, so feel free to contact us with any questions you may have.
